Fine jewellery makers may be set to spend an increasing amount of time surfing the web after a resource aimed at bringing professionals together was launched.
The ABJ website is a way of connecting makers of items such as gold diamond rings and diamond necklaces through a Facebook-style social network.
By using the website, it is hoped industry members will be able to gain advice from like-minded individuals on issues such as marketing, service, finance and human resources.
Whitney Sielaff, National Jeweller editorial director and administrator of the new resource, commented there is no better person for a jeweller to turn to in a tough time than a fellow professional.
He added: "Members can ask questions or start discussions with their peers on any topic or subject they need help with or simply wish to discuss."
In other industry news, Jewellers of Europe NV recently released a list of the 100 top retailers in the sector.
