A US couple have received free wedding rings after winning an industry competition, it has been revealed.
In news which may interest owners of gold diamond rings, the Platinum Guild International and GroomGroove.com combined to offer participants the chance to win the bands.
To stand a chance of scooping the top prize, loved-up pairs had to submit their stories of how their engagement occurred, with the top proposal story winning.
Sean Palmgren and fiancee Betsy Krause were judged as those with the most heart-warming tale, after the thoughtful-gent spelled out the words Will You Marry Me with a series of umbrellas.
Mike Arnot, speaking for GroomGroove.com, commented: "The main ingredient was imagination. It shows that guys don't necessarily have to break the bank for a memorable marriage proposal."
