Singer Loses Diamond Earrings

Thieves have stolen gem-encrusted jewellery belonging to singer Patti LaBelle, a source has reported.

A pair of diamond earrings were taken from the star shortly after she was given them by Oprah Winfrey, according to Contact Music.

Ms LaBelle told the news provider the loss dates back to a three-day, star-studded 2006 event recognising the achievements of African-American women at which she was handed the jewellery by the US TV legend, it may interest owners of items such as gold diamond rings and diamond bracelets to learn.

She said: "Oprah gave us all big diamonds, but somebody stole mine. I was robbed. I don't know where it was, but those earrings are gone."
