Diamonds continued to sparkle in the auction house as bidders battled it out to win a host of items at a recent sale.
Christie's New York Jewels event saw a pair of pear-shaped gems sell for $3.5 million (£2.36 million), it may interest owners of platinum diamond rings to learn.
Meanwhile, a flawless 10.29-carat jewel sold for $1.05 million, while a 19.44-carat diamond fetched $1.03 million.
Rahul Kadakia, Christie's head of jewellery, commented period pieces and several single stones proved to be the main attractions at the sale, which was held on Friday (12th December).
He added "Private buyers dominated the sale today, acquiring all of the top ten lots."
Earlier this month, the auction house withdrew a pair of gold earrings from sale days before they were due to be sold.
The decision was made when it emerged there were issues regarding the item's provenance after complaints from officials in Iraq, it may interest owners of diamond drop earrings to learn.
