A kind-hearted stranger showed a healthy dose of Christmas cheer when they dropped a jewel-encrusted ring into a charity collection tray, according to a source.
Radio presenter Danny Kelly was shocked to find the item as he asked for donations in aid of a hospital appeal, reports the Birmingham Mail.
He told the news provider: "I was looking to see what was in the buckets when I saw this ring glistening from the murky world of copper and silver."
Mr Kelly added if no one claims the band, which it is thought may have been dropped by mistake, then it will sold for charity, it may interest owners of gold diamond rings to hear.
It is thought the gemstone-covered band is worth around £700, the source adds.
Earlier this month, US charity workers reported finding a similar item in one of their collection kettles, it may interest owners of platinum diamond rings to hear.
