A jewellery designer is offering an uplifting product for diabetes sufferers - diamond medical bracelets.
Susan Eisen, who is a diabetic herself, is producing the pieces in a bid to get more people to wear the essential item.
Ms Eisen claimed many women are put off wearing traditional alternatives to the arm-wear which displays vital information on a person's health due to the way they look, adding the new diamond bracelets could put a stop to this.
She said: "As a jewellery designer, I challenged myself to design a fashionable bracelet that delivers emergency information, but is also a delight to wear."
The item is made with yellow or white gold and the gemstones, with its maker suggesting they are becoming a "sought after commodity" for fashion lovers who have diabetes.
In other industry news, according to research by the Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council, many people buy items such as platinum diamond rings from a jeweller rather than online due to the relationship they can build up in a traditional shop.
