A guide for those shopping for glittering jewellery has been released in ten languages.
The Gemmological Institute of America has released its four Cs brochure, with aims to educate consumers on the golden factors to take into account when buying items such as diamond drop earrings and diamond bracelets colour, cut, clarity and carat.
Kathryn Kimmel, vice president and chief marketing officer of the body, commented: "This is an important initiative to further spread information about the four Cs of diamond quality to the general public, gem enthusiasts, clients, and the gem and jewellery industry around the globe."
She went on to say the institute is "dedicated to educating" potential buyers of such products.
The guide is available in ten tongues, including English, Spanish, Italian, Thai, Hindi, Gujarati, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
In other diamond news, earlier this week it was suggested a gem which once belonged to King Phillip IV's daughter could sell for as much as £9 million at auction.
