PriceScope.com aims to help consumers find the best prices for items such as platinum diamond rings, diamond drop earrings and marquise-cut diamond rings.

Garry Holloway, diamond expert for the company, explained consumers can obtain "unbiased advice" when looking into purchasing glittering accessories.

Users of the e-commerce tool can search for jewels by cut and also use several forums in which they can chat to other shoppers and diamond enthusiasts.

In recent weeks several online search-engines for gemstones have been revealed.

Earlier this month, the Gentleman's Guide to Engagement, which aims to help men pick out the correct gold or platinum band for their partner, was launched by Tacori.com.

Meanwhile, GuysGuideToJewelry.com, another web-based tool offering advice for those in the dark when it comes to the purchase of gemstones, went live.
