Glittering jewellery was the star attraction at a recent showbiz event, it has been claimed.

Items such as diamond drop earrings and diamond necklaces were on show at the American Music Awards, reports the Jewelry Insider blog.

A host of high-profile names displayed their love for jewel-encrusted pieces at the bash.

Diamond drop earrings lit up Taylor Swift's outfit, while songstress Christina Aguilera wore a sparkling cuff that was "as thick as a John McEnroe headband", according to the news provider.

Meanwhile, the blog also states Rhianna and Alicia Keys went head to head to clinch the prize of who wore the biggest diamond earrings, with both sporting dazzling jewels.

The former opted for diamond and gold hoops, while the latter preferred a style which mixed the gemstone with mother of pearl, the source concluded.

Earlier this month, a high-profile event put on by Vogue saw several fashion and jewellery designers recognised for their work, while several guests appeared wearing sparkling pieces.ADNFCR-1633-ID-18893705-ADNFCR
