A charity is to raffle a jewel-studded cooker to raise funds, which may interest those looking to spread the luxury of platinum diamond rings to other items.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Womens Institute's Denman College, the charity commissioned a diamond-mounted cooker which will be the prize of an online competition.
Worth more than £4,000, the Stoves oven has a £1,400 certified half-carat diamond as its centrepiece, while it has been finished with a sparkling silver paint.
Anne Harrison, chair of the Denman College Committee, commented: "The cooker really is something special and will make a wonderful focal point in the winner's kitchen - after all, there can be few people in the world who can say they are the proud owner of a diamond-mounted oven."
The proceeds from the auction will be given to the national Lets Cook! scheme, which shows young parents from disadvantaged communities recipes for healthy meals.
Last month, Victoria's Secret revealed a £3 million bra that is covered in 117 one-carat round diamonds, 34 rubies and thousands of dark gemstones.
