Many couples are choosing to combine their engagement and wedding bands, it has been claimed.
According to the Samara James blog, some brides-to-be are using one diamond ring to symbolise the two landmark events.
The news provider states: "Many young couples are seriously looking at just one ring on their finger instead of two."
Despite this change in tradition, diamonds remain the preferred gemstone for engagement and wedding ring shoppers.
The news source adds bands with a diamond in the centre and gems around the outside are the most popular for couples.
According to the blog, simplicity could be the main reason for a trend of brides wearing one joint engagement and wedding band, rather than two gold diamond rings.
Earlier this month, the source claimed many separated couples argue over who should keep gold and platinum diamond rings which were bought during their relationship, with courts tending to rule in favour of men.
