Lotus Unveils Diamond Encrusted Car

A car firm has this week revealed a diamond encrusted vehicle.

Lotus has manufactured a car which features 164 diamonds to mark its 60th anniversary.

The gems, which are traditionally found in items such as diamond drop earrings and cushion-shape diamond rings, are located both in and outside of the vehicle, with stones found in the badge and gear stick of the new Lotus Europa.

Mike Kimberley, chief executive officer for Group Lotus, said: "I'm always proud to launch a special edition Lotus and this commemorative, bespoke Lotus for our diamond anniversary is very special indeed."

The diamonds featured in the car are worth around £100,000, with the vehicle valued at £150,000.

Meanwhile, in more traditional diamond jewellery news, American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson has this week been spotted wearing a diamond engagement ring.

The singer was reportedly given the item during her birthday celebrations by reality TV star boyfriend David Otunga.
