A top jewellery trade show got underway at Earls Court on Sunday.

The four-day event, which features the exhibition of items such as brilliant cut diamond rings and earrings, is the leading UK jewellery fair, reports idexonline.com.

As well as diamond pendants, earrings and rings there will also be several speakers present at the show.

Michael Vaughan, secretary general and executive director of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, is among those who will give a speech.

A presentation on the jewellery retail market will be provided by Mr Vaughan, while Michael Allchin, president of the World Jewellery Confederation's Precious Metals Commission, will also give a talk on metals and stones, the source adds.

The event, which attracts visitors from around the world, runs until Wednesday September 3rd.

Meanwhile, the diamond trade will also take centre stage in the Middle East later this year, reports ameinfo.com.

The Middle East Diamond and Jewellery Summit will be held on November 8th and 9th, focusing on the trade of items between the area and China, the source adds.
