Grace Kelly Tops Engagement Ring List

A list of the top ten most notable engagement rings in history has been revealed.

The countdown, published by thefrisky.com, names Grace Kelly's 12-carat ring as the most notable.

Ms Kelly's emerald-cut diamond ring was given to her by Prince Rainier and beat a six-carat platinum diamond ring given to Jennifer Lopez by Ben Affleck.

Other platinum and gold diamond rings featured in the list include a $5 million (£2.7 million) 18-carat emerald-cut diamond ring handed to Beyonce Knowles by Jay-Z, the source adds.

A cushion-shape diamond ring bought by Britney Spears also made the countdown, as did two platinum diamond rings, with a combined value of around $7.1 million, given to Paris Hilton by Paris Latsis.

The rundown came in response to actress Lindsay Lohan being seen wearing a diamond ring last week, which sparked rumours in the media that the Mean Girls star is about to marry DJ Samantha Ronson.
