Two large diamonds are being put up for auction next month, according to a source.
Stones, which can be used in items such as oval-cut diamond rings and emerald-cut diamond rings, found by DeBeers mine will be sold at Christie's New York Sale on October 15th, reports the Samara James blog.
The gems, which are called the Ponahalo Diamonds and weigh 102.11-carats and 70.87-carats, will go into an auction also featuring items such as diamond necklaces, brooches and rings.
It took around 18-months to shape the stones, which were cut from a 316.65-carat gem, the source states.
Funds raised by the sales will go to Diamond Empowerment Fund, the blog adds.
Meanwhile, a new date for an auction selling jewellery owned by world-renowned rap stars has been announced.
The sale, which features items such as a 10-carat diamond ring once owned by Tupac Shakur, is now scheduled for March 5th.
