Madonna Celebrates Half-century In Style

Pop icon Madonna has received a multitude of presents for her birthday on Saturday (August 16th), it has been revealed.

The Material Girl and queen of reinvention was given a specially-designed diamond necklace and matching diamond stud earrings from her husband Guy Ritchie, believed to have cost in the region of £250,000.

Meanwhile, her 11-year-old daughter Lourdes designed her a dress and Justin Timberlake - with whom she recently collaborated on Four Minutes - sent her a book of golf vouchers.

The singer and her husband were later pictured enjoying an evening at London's Volstead club, with Madonna clutching a bag encrusted with diamonds to spell out her name.

It was revealed this weekend by Guinness world Records that Madonna has sold more albums than any other female solo artist in history.

Some 120 million albums and 40 million of her singles have been purchased worldwide, thanks to hits like Music and Like a Prayer.
