Diamond Necklace For Material Girl's 50th?

Guy Ritchie is rumoured to be buying Madonna a diamond necklace for her 50th birthday.

According to Elle magazine, the material girl has cancelled a planned huge party on her estate in Wiltshire in favour of a smaller, more intimate gathering, at which Ritchie reportedly plans to present her with a diamond necklace.

The birthday celebrations come before Madonna stages a concert in Cardiff, marking the beginning of The Sweet and Sticky Tour.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that the singer is to wear two bespoke Givenchy costumes on the tour, one of which has a "gangster pimp" feel, the other of which is inspired by gypsies.

"I feel incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity to offer the world of Givenchy Haute Couture to Madonna the icon, the artist, the woman for whom I have so much respect and admiration," said Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci.

Madonna released her first, self-titled album in 1983, with subsequent records including Like a Virgin, Erotica and this year's Hard Candy.
