Diamond Drop Earrings On Cruz At Premiere

Penelope Cruz was pictured wearing sapphire and diamond drop earrings at the premiere of the new Woody Allen film, Vicky Christina Barcelona.

The star, who appears in the movie alongside Scarlett Johansson and Javier Bardem, paired the sapphire and diamond drop earrings with a black Herve Leroux gown, observes the Jewellery Insider blog.

Meanwhile, Johansson appeared at the film's first showing in a long, red Monique Lhuillier dress, which she offset with a gold statement necklace by Sonia Boyahian, who designed the actress's diamond engagement ring ahead of Johansson's wedding to Ryan Reynolds.

The blog asked: "Diamonds, sapphires, gold, gowns, Scarlett, Penelope … is there such a thing as too much beauty?"

Cruz's previous films include Almodovar's Volver, while Johansson has appeared in the adaptation of Dan Clowes's Ghost World as well as high profile roles in Sofia Coppola's Lost In Translation and Peter Webber's Girl With a Pearl Earring.
