One of Christina Ricci's summer jewellery choices is a diamond pendant, it has been revealed.

According to the Norwich Bulletin, the star of Black Snake Moan and The Ice Storm has been spotted in a star diamond pendant - just one example of the current trend for jewellery inspired by the night sky.

Shoppers looking to copy Ricci's look were urged to seek out their own, personalised diamond pendant.

Another jewellery trend this summer is pieces inspired by the sea, the news provider observes.

"Under the sea gems are squeezing through on to summer's jewel list from octopuses to conch shells with a few exceptions from some fairy finds," the article states.

Fairy fashion is reportedly another trend making its way into the jewellery stores this season, with women advised to pay homage to their childhood by wearing accessories inspired by Tinkerbell.

A recent article in the Sydney Morning Herald paid homage to the diamond-encrusted influence wielded by divas like Grace Kelly, Madonna and Gloria Swanson.
