Platinum Diamond Ring For Crop Pattern Proposal

A man who recently proposed to his partner by etching the question into a cornfield chose a platinum diamond ring to seal the deal.

Robert Szabo took Sarah Gartside for a flight in a plane, from which she discerned a huge love heart in a field enclosing the words: Sarah marry me, reports the Mirror.

"Ten seconds later Robert put the ring on my finger. It's platinum with a big diamond on top of it. It's beautiful," Ms Gartside told the publication.

Describing the gesture as the most romantic thing that had ever happened to her, she told the newspaper that she burst into tears as soon as she realised what had happened.

The cornfield was near the home the couple share in Leicester, the article notes, adding that Mr Szabo got the idea from his brother James, who works in farming technology with plough art software.

A platinum diamond ring was also the top choice for Heroes star Hayden Panettiere at the recent ESPY awards, according to Kinsey & Kinsella.
