Pear Shape Diamond Rings 'can Mean More Than Just Style'

Consumers often invest their pear shape diamond rings, diamond necklaces and diamond bracelets with sentimental value, a new report asserts.

According to the National Jeweller Network, people often associate items of jewellery with the person who gave it to them or the time in which they bought it.

San Antonio 26-year-old Audra Perks told the publication that several of her accessories have a special meaning.

"One would be the most expensive ring I own - a three-stone diamond ring. It was a ring that I had wanted for a long time, and my husband purchased it as a Mother's Day/birthday/anniversary gift," she explained.

Ms Perks' diamond engagement ring was also named as one of her most meaningful items - a point that may resonate with people who received a proposal together with a pear shape diamond ring or other design.

Actress Carina Lau recently got married to fellow performer Tony Leung wearing a pear shape diamond ring, the Straits Times revealed.
