Choose Diamond Necklaces With Care, Shoppers Told

Weighty diamond necklaces should perhaps be chosen carefully by the wearer, it has been suggested.

A new blog post on JCK Online suggests that while statement necklaces are fashionable this season, being spotted on a number of famous bodies, they are sometimes not as comfortable as their more understated peers.

The website's Cynthia Sliwa notes that long, heavy strands around the wearer's neck can swing when she walks, which is potentially "quite annoying".

She advised potential buyers of large diamond necklaces to try on a piece before buying it to ensure it matches their body type.

"Where the necklace hits and how well it conforms to the customer's figure can make all the difference between a successful look and a statement necklace that loses its impact," Ms Sliwa explained.

According to the Birmingham Mail, statement jewellery is a key element of this summer's international fashion trends, inspired by travel to distant lands.
