Mariah Carey's Engagement Confirmed?

The rumours that began to fly when Mariah Carey appeared in public with a diamond sparkler on her ring finger appear to have been confirmed.

A source close to the singer told Access Hollywood that Carey is engaged to rapper and actor Nick Cannon.

While the impending marriage has not yet been confirmed by either celebrity, Carey and Cannon are thought to be planning their wedding celebrity style as we speak.

The rumours initially began when the diva turned up to the party for her new film, Tennessee, at the New York's Tribeca film festival wearing a diamond jewellery design on the third finger of her left hand.

Cannon told People magazine at the party that he loved "everything" about Mariah.

And the potential Mr Carey, who met the singer on the set of her latest video, appears to have a penchant for diamond designer jewellery.

The Mirror reports that he gave an identical diamond ring to a previous fiance, model Selita Banks.
