Diamond Necklace 'a Hit At Cannes'

Movies are not the only art form making a splash at the Cannes film festival, with diamond jewellery also reportedly making its mark.

Model Eva Herzoviga stunned in a diamond necklace at the premiere of Che, reports the Sun.

The newspaper reveals that one onlooker compared the gem-strewn model to "Marilyn at her best".

According to AFP, pendant diamond drop earrings were a "favourite" at the trend-setting French event last year.

Stars including Herzoviga, Angelina Jolie and Maggie Cheung were all spotted in diamond drop earrings and other sparkling accessories, the news provider noted.

Chopard, the design company responsible for crafting the festival's top prize, the Palme d'Or, brought more than 500 sets of gems to the 2007 festival, of which it has been the official partner for more than a decade.
