Published : 16/06/09 Designers of items such as gold diamond rings and diamond necklaces turned out for a major industry event stateside. The great and the good of the sector gathered in Los Angeles for the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards. Creators of everything from clothing to accessorises and dazzling jewellery were in attendance. Justin Giunta, who has created collections such as Calders Circus, Soft Science, Rainforest and Sunken Treasure, picked up one of the event's Swarovski awards, as did meanswear expert Tim Hamilton. Meanwhile, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez scooped the Accessory Designer of the Year gong for Proenza Schouler, lovers of diamond bracelets may be interested to hear. In other industry news, the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) has announced that it is to hold a 2009 WFDB Asia Summit Meeting later this month. The body will hold the event on June 29th, with the aim of involving areas such as Bangkok, Singapore and Mumbai in its activities.
