Published : 30/12/08 A man who stole a jewel-encrusted band from a US jewellery outlet has been identified. Troy Robinson took the $300,000 (£204,000) gemstone-covered item from a store last month after asking an assistant for a closer inspection of the shop's gold diamond rings. Mr Robinson then fled with the band, and after a month-long search he has now been named but not yet caught. James Early, of Upper Merion police, told KindofPrussiaCourier.com: "We learned his identity through phone calls we received. People recognised him from the news media." He went on to say speaking to informants had also helped the man in question become known to the authorities and a warrant has now been issued for his arrest. In other news regarding missing gold diamond rings, shortly before Christmas museum workers found a missing gemstone from a band belonging to US resident Catherine Hart. Ms Hart had lost the jewel while visiting the historical facility, with it later being found in a vacuum cleaner bag.
