Published : 18/12/08 People who like to look stylish while making important calls will be able to do so with a new jewel-encrusted item. Dior has launched a mobile phone which is covered with 640 glittering gemstones, which come in at 3.251-carats. The item, which includes technology produced by Sony, also features black sapphires and is billed as being the pinnacle of luxury phone tailoring, it may interest owners of gold diamond rings and diamond drop earrings to learn. Its makers claim the latest production methods have been used to ensure the telecoms device is of the highest quality. However, would-be buyers may be put off by the suitably extravagant price tag, with models retailing for £15,000. Dior is not the first company to launch luscious gemstone covered items, as earlier this year London-based company DEOS came up with a way for music lovers to show their passion for diamonds while listening to their favourite tunes - by wearing diamond-encrusted headphones.
