An American policewomen is at the centre of a row regarding an engagement band, according to reports.
Denna Mory, a member of the Chula Vista police force, has been fired after being accused of stealing a diamond ring from her former fiancee.
Ms Mory's ex-partner claimed the law enforcer took the $17,000 (£11,200) item after originally returning it when the couple separated, it may interest owners of gold diamond rings to learn.
The 24-year-old, who has now taken a job as a security guard, has lodged an appeal with the region's Civil Service Commission.
Previously, Ms Mory filed a lawsuit against the city after she was refused permission to enter a national beauty pageant.

The pair, one of which is believed to be around 70-years-old, stole the item while a shop assistant turned to complete a transaction.
