A gold diamond ring was the subject of a frenzied search by a man who lost his wedding band on a beach last week.
Matthew Canipe mislaid the ring while digging for seashells with his family on Sunday in the Gulf of Mexico, reports the News Herald.
Mr Canipe, together with his wife Krystal and their two children, trawled the water for the 24-carat white gold diamond ring for hours, eventually gaining the help of a nearby family who noticed their strife.
However, Mr Canipe was not going to give up easily and he returned to the beach the next day, having marked his location, and sifted sand for 90 minutes with a deep-fryer dipper before finding the gold diamond ring.
"I was upset when he lost it," Ms Canipe said. "It's not just a wedding ring; it's a token of our affection and love."
