A woman from Sheffield has been reunited with her diamond engagement ring after it was stolen by a magpie three years ago.
In news that may strike fear into the hearts of people who own precious heart shape diamond rings, Julia Boaler left her diamond ring by an open window and returned to find it had vanished, reports the Sun.
She searched the house, reportedly "ripping apart the bathroom" in order to find the accessory, to no avail.
However, Ms Boaler's fiance, Justin Laycock, recently cleared up the garden ahead of the couple's planned sale of their home - and he spotted the diamond ring in a bird's nest.
"Magpies are known for stealing shiny things, so one must have swooped down and nabbed it from the window," Ms Boaler told the publication.
According to the Times & Transcript, a bride-to-be recently lost and found a diamond ring on a golf course over the course of one weekend.
