Cocktail diamond rings 'hot for 2008'

Cocktail rings have been identified as one of the hottest trends in jewellery this year.


Speaking to JCKIndia, Mumbai jeweller Sapna Gupta said that cocktail rings – which mix old and new styles – are perfect for a range of occasions and are particularly fashionable when the jewellery piece is a diamond ring – which may include princess cut diamond rings.


According to the news source, while a range of stones can be used in cocktail rings, diamonds are one of the best types to wear.


"The key is to keep the style simple and bold. And, if you are willing to defy style conventions, just put many different cocktail rings on different fingers," Ms Gupta stated.


According to the Guardian, while it is difficult to define exactly what a cocktail ring is, they are generally believed to be fairly large and should look their "very best" when placed next to a champagne flute.
