Published : 16/07/08 Diamond pendants are becoming popular ways of preserving the memory of deceased loved ones. According to the Star, more people are choosing to transform the ashes of their family members into diamond pendants to wear around their necks, reports AFP. When secretary Lilly Hess-Sollberger read about the phenomenon, she asked her daughter, Michele Galmarini-Hess, whether she would turn her mother's ashes into a sparkling piece of jewellery after her death. Ms Galmarini-Hess did so when her parent passed away three years ago, making Ms Hess-Sollberger's remains into a half-carat blue diamond pendant. "I wear it day and night, even when I go to bed. For me, she's alive and it does me good," she told the news provider. In this way, loved individuals are able to "spend eternity as sparkling diamonds", the report noted. In related news, Briton Sue Rogers recently transformed the ashes of her cat, Sooty, into a gold diamond ring.
