Actress given diamond commitment ring

US actress Lindsay Lohan has been given a diamond ring by her partner, Sam Ronson.


According to the Mirror, the DJ gave Lohan an £11,000 Cartier diamond ring as a birthday present.


"Sam took Lindsay shopping to celebrate her 22nd birthday," a source told the newspaper.


"It's not an engagement ring - simply a token of her commitment," the insider added.


"Lindsay is thrilled and she and Sam are very content."


Ronson - the sister of UK producer Mark - was spotted lunching outside with Lohan to break up their celebratory shopping spree.


Commitment rings - sometimes known as promise rings - have been something of a trend in Hollywood of late, with stars giving their partners pieces such as gold diamond rings to symbolise their fidelity.


Recently, Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes presented his partner, singer Katy Perry, with a diamond promise ring, 411 Mania reported.
