Department store Selfridges plans to sell a cuddly bear worth £43,000, whose eyes are made of diamonds and emeralds and whose nose is made of 24-carat gold.
Anne Pitcher, buying and merchandising director, told the Telegraph: "Christmas is a time of indulgence which is why we have invested in a luxury festive offer appealing to both the UK and global markets."
The limited edition bear, which may appeal to fans of diamond necklaces and diamond stud earrings, is made to order, with an example being placed in a glass box in the store's flagship London branch.
A Mont Blanc pen filled with liquid gold comes with the teddy, whose fur is entwined with gold leaf.
Meanwhile, Christie's International recently announced that sales were ten per cent in the first half of this year, with prominent deals including a diamond necklace that fetched $1.7 million (£850,000).
