Platinum diamond ring retailers 'drawing British buyers'
UK consumers are flocking to luxury jewellery stores to purchase platinum diamond rings and other accessories, a new report suggests.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the parent company of Prestons of Bolton has announced a ten per cent rise in sales for the first two months of the financial year.
Karl Massey, managing director of Cotrills, told the newspaper that this year could see it report record revenues of £20 million.
The figure - up from £17.25 million last year - is evidence of the steadfast consumer appetite for luxury items such as platinum diamond rings, the executive asserted.
"Despite what you read and hear about consumer spending, the luxury end of the market is flying," Mr Massey said.
Meanwhile, Napsi has noted this week that unconventional shapes for diamond rings are growing more popular among fashionistas looking to stand out from the crowd.
Marquise cut diamond rings and cushion shape diamond rings are among the most cutting-edge styles, the news provider observed.
