A diamond ring can not only bring a perfect sparkle to any outfit, it can also bring lasting memories of happy times, especially if given as a gift.
Helga Breier, whose husband bought her a beautiful diamond ring to mark their tenth wedding anniversary, told the Toronto Star that her bespoke jewellery reminds her of the happy times they have shared every time she sees it.
"It's a testament to ten years, and it reminds me every minute of every day - when I wash my hands, look in the mirror, drive the car - and it glints at me. Everything that is important to me is in that ring," she said.
The sparkling square diamond, which is framed by two smaller ones representing the couple's two children, will complement perfectly Helga's vintage ruby engagement ring.
Another woman relying on a diamond to bring her happy memories is Adele Squires, whose RAF husband was killed in Afghanistan two years ago.
She had his ashes made into a quarter-carat yellow diamond which she says gives her comfort and lets her know her husband is watching over her.
