Coleen's diamond stud earrings 'epitomise northern style'

The diamond stud earrings worn by Coleen McLoughlin at her wedding to Wayne Rooney represent the best of northern style, a new report indicates.


According to the Liverpool Echo, the bride's simple look - with her hair in a bun, she wore a strapless bodice and her only jewellery was a pair of diamond stud earrings - represented the best of the north's fashion scene.


"No other embellishment was needed and with her perfect golden skin she looked radiant," the publication observes.


Liverpool is a glamorous city that places much importance on personal grooming, the columnist Justine Mills adds.


And women in Liverpool care more about the approval of their female friends than the men in their life when it comes to style, she comments.


Diamonds were a theme at the Coleen-Wayne nuptials - the bride's bespoke wedding band was a gold diamond ring, reported the News of the World.
