Retail diamond sales were up by more than 100 per cent for e-commerce giant Amazon in the year's first quarter.
Diamond pendants were among the most popular items sold by the store, it announced this week.
Peter Lai, director of the jewellery and watches division of the company, said that customers are increasingly looking for luxury items such as diamond jewellery.
As well as diamond pendants, diamond stud earrings and diamond chronograph watches were also "extremely popular", the company said.
Top brand watches included the Invicta Limited Edition Diamond chronograph, the Seiko Coutura and the Movado Diamond Amorosa.
Best-selling products included a 14 carat white gold journey curve pendant, as well as a princess-cut diamond solitaire ring and a one carat round-cut diamond stud earring.
Watches accented with diamonds and black diamond pendants were also popular, the store revealed.
Meanwhile, the Times of India has recommended princess cut diamonds for people with long, slim fingers.
